The New Widex Unique Range
The Newest Widex Hearing Aids
Widex have just launched their newest and most advanced hearing aids yet. The Widex Unique range of hearing aids were launched last week and they certainly seem to live up to the Widex reputation for innovation. Widex say that these are the best hearing aids that they have ever produced, that is a quite a big claim coming from a company renowned for superior hearing aids.
Lets look at what the Unique platform has to offer you!
CAPTURES MORE SOUND
Widex have focused on capturing more sound input than ever before. They say that the UNIQUE hearing aids capture all the sounds that you need, from the from the loud to the very quiet. They also say that their ground breaking technology provides you with a wider range of comfortable, audible sounds than any other hearing aids. Widex have changed their hearing aids to capture sounds as high as 113dB SPL and as low as 5dB SPL. Clean sound good, artefacts bad! It means that you will be able to hear the important soft sounds but also louder sounds completely free of any distortion. This new strategy will allow the best possible understanding of speech in every situation.
PURE, CLEAN SOUND
Because Widex is going to deliver more soft sounds than ever before it is important that the UNIQUE range can also reduce unwanted soft sounds while maintaining useful soft sounds (such as quiet speech). Widex have always provided more gain for soft sounds than any one else, providing more gain for soft sounds is a good strategy for amplifying soft speech but it can also mean soft unwanted sounds. The noise from fans, refrigerators, or even the hearing aid microphone noises, can be audible even when in quiet environments. They have introduced a new noise reduction feature, a powerful Soft Level Noise Reduction system to reduce the soft noises that you do not want to hear while retaining the audibility of other soft sounds.
Hearing soft sounds is particularly important for the understanding of speech, but even more important for the hearing aid is determining which soft sounds are useful to you, and which are not. Speech and noise are very different, speech is a completely different pattern than noise with different characteristics. The new feature determines the difference between speech and noise patterns without any compromise in speech intelligibility or comfort. The Soft Level Noise Reduction Algorithm in UNIQUE differentiates those soft noise sounds from soft speech sounds and reduces their amplification. UNIQUE is the only hearing aid that ensures important soft sounds are maintained and unwanted soft noises are removed resulting in enhanced sound quality and better comprehension of speech for you.
Widex have made sure that UNIQUE hearing aids will cleverly and quickly adapt to any sound situation you find yourself in in your daily life. They will work to constantly separate speech from noise as you move through your day. Meaning that you can enjoy superb understanding of speech and comfort in any sound environment. Widex have devised a completely new, precise processing system to give users significantly improved sound in every sound environment.
WIDEX UNIQUE™ Sound Class technology divides listening environments into nine different sound classes. Those distinct sound classes are based on real-life measurements combined with Widex Research. The feature searches for specific characteristics in the incoming sound, it then determines whether prominent speech is present. When prominent speech is present, the system delivers audibility; when there is no prominent speech, it delivers comfort.
An improved hearing experience - automatically
WIDEX UNIQUE gives hearing aid users an improved hearing experience across many different sound environments, without any need for input from you. In each sound class, WIDEX UNIQUE continuously monitors whether or not there is prominent speech. The internal controller then optimises the feature setting. So the individual sound classes are sufficient to deal with any sound environment that you may encounter.
The New COM-DEX
Widex have also introduced a new wireless accessory device, the COM-DEX. The COM-DEX is a stylish, hands-free communication device that streams high-quality sound to your hearing aids from your smartphone. It hangs very discreetly around your neck and connects wirelessly to your hearing aids to make for a truly hands-free solution. And you can also stream music and more, quickly and instantly.
